This episode it's my privilege to be talking with Mr. Angel Vivaldi, virtuoso instrumental guitarist, philanthropist, and one damn funny dude! Angel shares his journey from being inspired by Kurt Cobain to pick up the guitar, to becoming an accidental guitar hero, tour stories of disappearing sound guys, and a look into being endorsed and getting his own signature guitar that has become a production model. He also gives valuable insight into what it takes to be an independent instrumental musician, his philosophies on being ecologically responsible in producing your merch, and finally some personal stories about his life, friends and family.

Joining me in this interview is Australian-born, NYC-based singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur, Eden James. We hear about his first foray into music, learning drum rudiments in the school marching band, then picking up a guitar and starting to write songs as a young teen. We hear about Eden's journey to the UK, and then winning a visa lottery to live in the US, at the suggestion of his then girlfriend. Eden shares a lot of valuable insight about his experience as an indie artist, licensing his songs to a major label and getting a number 1 hit in Greece, as well as hiring A-list session musicians to record his latest album, and setting up his own record label.

Joining me this episode is Acme Marketing CEO, Steven Volpp, and the legendary Dweezil Zappa, to talk about their new venture Reward Music. Reward is a full service platform that gives artists all the tools they need to host their music, media, website, and everything else required to connect with fans in order to make a living from their art, without having to give everything away on social media and streaming platforms. Steve starts us off talking about the platform, his history in the music business, including launching his patented Radial drum system with Peavey, which led to working with Dweezil on his Wiggy amp. He also talks about the development of the platform that Reward now runs on, including a number of other businesses that use it. Dweezil joins us about halfway through to talk about the challenges that artists face today especially during a pandemic, and how the platform will benefit anyone who wants to make a living from something creative, even outside music.

In this episode I talk to Matt Connard about his studio project War Chariot. Since the interview, it was announced that War Chariot has broken up, however Matt is planning on forging ahead with his own solo music, and I look forward to hearing what he comes up with. In this conversation, we hear how Matt got into music, how the band got started and we get deep into some Swedish death metal talk, along with some guitar nerd conversation about amp tones. Matt also shares his background in business and some killer tips for musicians to be mindful of their long term goals, and think in a more entrepreneurial way about their business. Finally, Matt shares some extremely personal experiences with mental health, addiction and a traumatic event as a child, that he attributes his former lifestyle to. This is an incredibly deep and moving conversation, and I am extremely grateful to Matt for sharing his story, in the hope that it will give anyone struggling with mental health, a ray of hope to see that you are not alone and you can get through your difficulties, no matter how intimidating they feel.

McCaul shares how he got into music and his perspective on what it means to be an artist, whether that be musical or visual. We also learn how the guys have been writing songs, a little about the recording process and how they share responsibilities in the marketing of the band.
